Blog for a cure!

Hi everyone...just wanted to let you all know my bloggy friend Lani is doing her 2nd annual Blog for the Cure!.

You may remember I blogged about this last year. I was amazed that she was training for a marathon, raising money...all while raising triplets!!!. Well, this was before I had my boys. If I was amazed then that a mom of multiples could do all that while keeping her sanity....well, now I'm beyond amazed because now I actually know the craziness of having multiples...and I "only" have two!!!!!!!!.

So head on over to her blog! She's raising $1,750 for a GREAT cause...she's training with Team in training and has some awesome giveaways lined up!.

Donating $1, earns you an entry into EACH giveaway. That's right...just $1!!!!!!!!!. If you can donate more, then you can use your extra dollars as extra entries in your favorite giveaways!. Give $30 or more and you automatically win some prizes!.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society supports life-saving cancer research, as well as directly supporting families that are dealing with blood cancers. Cancer survival rates have steadily risen over the last few decades, but that is not enough. There is work to be done, and I need your help.

In January 2011, I will run a half marathon as a part of the Team In Training program with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The race is symbolic. It's going to be a challenge and a lot of fun but really, it's the least I can do to show my support. If you or someone you know has been touched by cancer, I know that you understand why this is important, and you understand why every dollar donated DOES make a difference.

This was such a fun certificate to win! It was tough to choose because all of their stuff was truly awesome....I wish I could have waited until the boys first birthday in October because they have the cutest invitations!.

Since I had to order before the end of June, I opted for lots of cute gift tags, address labels, notecards and even some cute mommy cards!. Nowadays I'm always meeting moms everywhere I go (thanks to my super cute boys!)...and it's a nice way to pass your info to set-up future playdates!.

I just received my box and I LOVE all my goodies!!!!. I got these mommy cards, these cute elephant notecards (along with the address labels!), these beautiful cards with address labels and these gift cards!!!...oh and thinking ahead I even got some Holiday address labels! (look at me, Miss Planner!)

Blog for a Cure

If you were wondering what the new button to the right is, well, here it is!

I'm excited to be helping out Lani, mom of triplets, in her blog party next week. She will be giving a away a bunch of prizes as she tries to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. She joined Team in Training to do this and is training to run her first marathon!.

I'm excited to help because:

1) Well, it's a good cause.

2) If she, having triplets under 2, has time to do something good for someone else...then everyone has the time!

3) It's her first marathon. If you read my bucket list, you know I hope to run my first marathon one day too and I'll need all the encouragement I can get!

4) Did I mention she has triplets AND is raising funds AND training for a marathon??

On Monday, Sept 28- Friday, Oct 2, 2009, Who Knew? Reviews will be hosting the first Annual Blog For A Cure, which is a new way to use social media to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, while making new connections and broadening our social media network.


Blood cancers are an aggressive and stealthy enemy. They can and will strike people of all ages, health status, ethnicity, and sex unless we rally together and support the research that is needed to treat and prevent them. I have organized this campaign in honor of a dear family member and fellow young mom who has recently been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and is now fighting for her life. I am sure that each and every one of us can say we know someone who has been affected by these devastating, indiscriminate diseases. Together, we can use our most accessible resource, the internet, to help fight the battle.

It’s pretty simple:

• On September 28th, head over to Who Knew? Reviews, and click on the button to donate $1.00 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. If you can donate more, please do so, but the minimum to participate is $1.00. This will get you one entry into EVERY giveaway, and for each extra dollar that you donate, you will earn extra entries. I will triple-check that each entry in each giveaway has been accounted for.
  

• Then, sign in to Mr. Linky which will be active on the blog at midnight, Sept. 25th. Cruise the list of other participants, visiting a minimum of 5 blogs.

• Click “follow” when you get to those blogs. For each new blog follower that you get, return the “follow”. Feel free to visit and follow each and every other participant that signs in to Mr. Linky- think how many new followers you will receive!

• Feel free to check back all week long to meet new bloggers, and gain new followers!

• On September 28th, post something about the Blog For A Cure Blog Party on your own blog, including the link: www.whoknewreviews.blogspot.com. Feel free to copy and paste this text, and encourage all of your blog readers to do the same.

• If you do not care to gain followers for your blog, you can still will prizes by donating a dollar, and commenting on the prize posts that you want to win.

• If you do not want to donate, you can still help by blogging, tweeting, and posting on Facebook about this event, to help us spread the word and raise as much money as possible. Just imagine what a difference we could all make, if we all just donated ONE dollar. Just think about it.

Every hour throughout the day on September 28th, I will post a new giveaway on Who Knew? Reviews. 31 week Bump and the party continues!

I know what you're thinking, I'm having TWO babies...but a single stroller comes in handy for those times when you're only taking one baby out (to the Drs office, etc). End of Summer Blog party giveaway!!!

Today is the summer giveaway party at a network I belong to that I love!.

It was founded my two awesome MoMs (Moms of Multiples). Lani, mom of triplets, and Amanda, mom to twins!. Their network does prove that there is strength in numbers :)

I couldn't decide what to giveaway...and this is the first time I host a giveaway!. Then thought I have this awesome book (that I actually won over at the Multiples network!). It's called "Twins 101" AND it's autographed by the author (K. Le-Bucklin, MD). I loved all the tips and advice, I thought I would pass it along to another MoM :) .
