Organization is the key...

...to success!! (I hope!)

After my breast feeding class yesterday, it became clear that a log book is absolutely necessary when it comes to caring for a newborn. This is particularly important with twins!

So what do I do?.... I go a little crazy and create a full blown spreadsheet. Those that know me won't be surprised by this at all! -- My wedding planning spreadsheets resembled project plans of million dollar initiatives...my maternity leave has been planned out in a spreadsheet to the last day, which my boss found particularly helpful (and sort of funny).

I present to you...the daily babies log!. I am sure the design will be adjusted as I figure things out with the boys!

I was asked if I'd be willing to share the document I created with other twin moms....well, of course!.

I added a box (on the right) to the link to the pdf version. I tried uploading the Excel version, but the formatting gets a little messed up. Leave me a comment if you have any problems or if you have suggestions for anything I should add/re-arrange!.

Disclaimer: This was meant to be an "internal" house document...and I liked "Pee" and "Poo" better than "Wet" and "Soiled"! ;)

Take THAT Bathroom Closet

(originally written a while back but didn't get around to uploading the pictures until today!)

You thought just because I've been slacking I would forget about you. You thought, "no way she will spend the last Sunday in March cleaning off a closet".

Well...take that!. I win. I did it. Sure, I would have rather been at the pool or laying in the couch (more likely)...but I didn't.

So to all other messy spaces in this house...don't let my lately appearance of a lazy person fool you. I'm coming after you. Me, my baskets, trash bags and labels.

Blogcation!

I took a vacation blogcation...it wasn't planned and I certainly didn't go anywhere exotic. As a matter of fact, I have been right here...just busy!

So to all my readers (dad, are you there?)...I'm sorry for the lack of blogging!....but don't send the search party out for me, I'm back ;)

I haven't been able to run much lately and boy, do I miss it!. On a positive note though, my sister Tatiana is now quite the runner. She has kept up with it so I'm living vicariously through her!. I will go back to running though...my shoes are practically begging for it, I don't blame them...you get used to having that time outside and it's hard to imagine not doing it in so long.

As far as organization is concerned...well, we did finish the entryway console table decor. This was a huge thing to take off the list...but I'm not sure if that counts as a space. Oh well, I make the rules around here, so screw it, it counts!. In March, the winner of an organization makeover is the bathroom closet--it SO needs it.

On another note, Daniela passed away. She will forever be remembered as a strong and beautiful woman!. Thank you all for the prayers.

Updates

Hi everyone!!! As I mentioned I have been busy with all sorts of challenges...a.nd have been able to check some things off my list!

RUNNING
Was able to bring my running totals closer to my January goal with two great runs. Friday I went for a 5.5 mile run by the beach (made a mental note to do that more often since our house is 4 miles from the beach!). Saturday I took the day off and Sunday I went for a 3.6 mile run by the house right before dinner. I felt great in both runs and my foot only bothered me slightly, but nothing compared to how it was last week.

Only a few more miles this week to reach my goal...and less than a week for my first 5K!!! :)

PUSH-UPS
Guess you will be joining me in this challenge?...the hubster!!. Today we do our initial test to find out what level we are in. From there we choose our recommended 6-week program.

Note for Erpapin (aka: Dad): don't worry...I'm still doing stretching and Yoga (at least twice a week!)...I also do other strength /cardio group classes at the gym to mix it up ;)

COOKING
Last week the challenge was to use Pumpkin...as I mentioned before I made Pumpkin Oatmeal. It was delish!!!. This week's challenge is Blueberries!...I always have my morning cereal with some sort of berries...today it was a mix of Strawberries and Blueberries. Also, for snack I had Plain Yogurt with pecans and blueberries :9 ...YUM!

ORGANIZATION
You didn't think I forgot...did you?. One of my '09 resolutions is to organize one space a month every month this year. This month's space was the closet in the blue room (our guestroom). It wasn't terrible, but look at the difference!..Now the guests can actually use the closet without wondering why we have ties, shoes, fans, purses and camping equipment in there :)

In the organized space I only have the sheets and towels for that room as well as space and hangers for guests.

That is it for now!...I'm trying to choose a space for February but haven't decided on one yet.

Nah...the moment has passed!

I came to my senses last night and decided I don't think it's a good idea to sign up for that race. If I'm going to do a half, I'm going to do it right. There will be plenty more opportunities and the common theme for runners that get injured, is that they did too much too fast.

So anyway, after being momentarily blinded by the shiny medal and realizing it hasn't even been 6 months since I first started running, I will pass.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On other exciting news, I've chosen my organization space for January!. The closet in the Blue room (aka the guest room!). It's not that it is too messy (because I basically pushed the mess to the corners), but it's not comfortable enough for guests (no hangers, space to tuck away things, etc). So get ready closet and tell all your buddies, you've won a mini make-over!
