Today the boys are one month old!. I can't believe a month has gone by already. The best part? we all survived it and we're all smiling!. Even Chepe (our doggie) is happy, after getting sick initially from the late nights and added stress of not being our only child anymore....he seems happy now!
Here are some things I didn't know...and nobody could have prepared me for:
I had no idea that I could function with so little sleep.
I didn't know how much I would pray for them.
I had no idea how important a burp was...getting that burp at 3am is like a trophy!. "The burp" means we've got a happy baby. If baby is happy, mommy is happy.
I didn't know that even though each time I get out of bed it feels like my body is about to break down, I adore more than anything the reasons why I have to wake up....and one little smile makes me feel completely renewed.
I didn't know I could love my husband in a whole new way and see him as a whole new person.
I didn't know how much I would care about baby poop, what it looked like and how frequent it came.
More than anything, I didn't know...I had no idea (and nobody could really explain to me) what maternal love felt like. It's like that baby (babies, in my case) know you better than anyone else. They look at me and I feel like my soul is naked. They can see right through me and the feeling you get is too big to fit in your heart...so then it spreads all over your body. I think this is the reason why you have more patience than you ever thought was humanly possible and the reason why you're able to wake up each and every single time and love it.
Alex and Lucas, I love you guys. I am so, so , so lucky and blessed.

Oh my gosh... my life has been so crazy lately I have barely checken in over here- I can't believe they are a month old already!
Such a crazy, wonderful time, isn't it?
Congrats on 1 month! You are doing great!
I've been wanting to ask you if you are using your Log sheet to keep track of feedings, diapers, etc. How is working out for you? Have you made any change on it? I am planning to use it when my little guys arrive--it seems like a great log! Thanks for making it and sharing it!
Nice post Ando, the last paragraph almost made me shed a tear, but it's a good thing my manliness is super strong and prevented from turning into this thing with feelings ;)
