It's been a while...and good bye, for now.

Hi!...Anyone out there? {echo}

It's safe to say life has been busy. VERY busy!!.

The boys are now running all over the place....I'm loving this stage, they're little people with big personalities already. Can I love them more each day? Yup, it's possible!.

Yesterday was my big race I had been training off and on for. Let me tell you, training for a half marathon with two little ones is not easy!. Just when you start getting into a routine something happens (like a MOLAR!) and you're out of your routine and completely sleep deprived. And we all know how hard it is to get BACK into a routine...

I didn't train as much or as diligently as I wanted to...but I surprised myself BIG time during my race yesterday. I honestly had no plans on running it so fast....but I went with the flow, didn't pay attention to my pace and just let my mind take over.

I completed the 13.1 (13.2 really, but I digress) in 2:02:24!!!!. That's a pace of 9'20''...which if I say so myself, it's freaking awesome!

For the running junkies, here are the splits:

9:04, 9:03, 9:11, 9:11, 9:18, 9:21, 9:29, 9:36, 9:33, 9:17, 9:12, 9:14, 8:53

I hit a "wall" at around mile 8 and thought "what was I thinking going so fast!!!?"...but then thought "well, now I have to keep at it and finish strong". And so I did.

I like to think I was inspired by my sister (a recent marathoner) and my dad (who ran many marathons and triathlons!) and was powered by the thought of maybe seeing my three favorite men at the finish line (wasn't sure if they would make it on time!)...add that inspiration and that power with a couple of energy gels and I just kept going.

So there. I did it!. Hopefully one day join my dad and my sister and become a marathoner too.

If you would have told me a little over two of years ago that I was going to be a runner, I would have laughed. I was never the big "athlete" growing up...I always thought I was pretty slow...and I just didn't think I had it in me. But I do...and I'm a runner.

It's been quite the journey and really the reason why I started blogging. I needed a way to let out all my excitement about running (without driving my close family and friends nuts).

Then I got pregnant and was all about my pregnancy ... wanted a way to share that special moment.

Then the boys were here and I wanetd to document all the love and craziness that comes with having twin boys.

And now..well, now they are MOVING. RUNNING. And the faster the move, the less time I have to sit and do anything. I don't have time to continue blogging....because I simply don't want to miss a moment right now ~ and it's going by too fast. I have a feeling that it's only going to seem like it's going faster!.

I do love to read everyone's blogs that I've "met" in the last couple of years...and maybe one day I'll return with all of my amazingly funny stories (ha!).

Thank you guys for letting me share a little bit of me with you these last two years.

Thank you to my dad, sisters, Isa, mom and friends that ALWAYS kept up with me here and left me the best comments.

So this is good bye. For now.

(but you didn't think I would leave without first leaving you with a few pictures did you?)

First, here are a few pictures of my two favorite boys:

World cup fever!

We love the world cup. I mean, we LOVE it. We breath futbol for 4 weeks...and so of course I had to make sure the boys had an appropriate picture to show support!. I can't believe in 4 years, when the next world cup comes along, they'll be able to play futbol!. For now, we're trying to teach them to raise their arms when we say "GOOOOOOOOL!!!"

And no, I didn't paint their faces...it's a little program from budunited.com!

So go on with your bad self and show your colors!

Gimme that phone!

A few weeks ago I got the boys a toy cell phone, since they seem so interested in mine!.

This morning they were fighting over the cell phone. They love that thing!

And here we thought they were "all daddy"!....so there you go folks, the boys got something from mommy!

Did you hear that??

Wait, did I hear something?

That's the question I ask myself about 7 times during the night lately. Ever since the boys went in for their shots over a week ago, the screaming at all hours of the day has been pretty constant.

My ears are ringing...and I swear I hear them screaming even when they are not screaming. I go in to see who's the one testing my sanity upset...only to find two sleeping babies!

Poor guys...something must really be bothering them. I think I got lucky enough that they started teething right around the same time....so it's been one L O N G week!

I think they started to turn the corner though...maybe because they got the news that tomorrow they turn 5 months and they have their girlfriends (my friend's twin girls) coming over for a play date.

In other news, I have been evicted from my husband's office. Apparently, I'm very messy (don't believe him). So today I'm moving all my stuff back to my "condo" upstairs. I haven't used that room since I was pregnant, when I decided to start working in my husband's office so I wouldn't have to be going up and down the stairs.

To say my condo is a mess is an understatement. Anything that doesn't have a place in this house has somehow ended up there!.

Actually, I take it back. I have used my condo...daily, as a matter of fact!. Every night, that's were I feed the babies when they wake up in the middle of the night (God forbid they decided to stop asking for midnight visits with mommy!). The couch has spit up stains every where, it's lovely.

So my mission for today is to move back! (and leave the hubs with zero entertainment in his office, which by the way will be very sad looking without my "mess"). It's probably good timing since I start working again in less than two weeks!

And to get into work mode, I thought I would start off with a memo to the boys...

Dear Alex and Lucas,

While I love seeing you, I would rather have out time together be between the hours of 7am and 8pm. I know that sometimes you feel like you just have to practice talking at 4am...or how you get confused and think 5am is 7am. I also understand that 1am and 3am are perfectly good hours for a snack...and how you like to have your snack alone with mommy....so you stagger when you wake up. I know, I know.

The thing is fellas, mommy has to start working again...so sleeping more than three or four hours in a row would really help!.

I promise, I will be eager and happy to see you in the mornings (by morning I mean 7am, not 5am). What do you say?

Love,

Mom

Nursery Idea Board! (my first attempt!)

I'm happy to report I'm having another productive week and the babes are kicking up a storm in there!

We picked out and ordered the bedding sets...it was such a great deal that I just couldn't let it pass. We got the Dwellstudio Zoo bedding from Target...I love the modern feel to it and the colors seem to be perfect.

I think it's going to work well with what I had in mind!. If it doesn't, we'll return them and will be back to the drawing board.

(Click on the picture for a bigger version)

  • Wall color: Very pale blue (as shown on the background).

  • Cribs: Our beautiful Olivia Cribs that arrived this week! (we'll be busy this weekend!). For the wall behind the cribs we were thinking of having a decal with a tree or some birds on branches paired with a couple of modern and simple mobiles (thinking maybe my super artistic dad, aka "erpapin", could help with those!).

  • Curtains: Bright Orange to spice things up!

  • Dresser/Changing Table: A simple white dresser from Ikea, topped with a changing top (not shown). On top of the dresser I think the Wood "creatures" I found in Etsy would work well.

  • Glider: A dark rich brown upholstered rocker. I found this one from JCPenney that looks really nice.

  • Art: I also loved the decal in the idea board with the boys in the swings. Not sure where that would go just yet. An lastly, maybe some cute sign about boys or brothers...

So what do you guys think? Got any recommendations?...this is just the first attempt so any suggestions/comments are welcome!
