Nursery pictures!!!

The nursery is mostly done, just missing a few things (the glider, a hamper and the art on top of the cribs!)

As you enter the room, the art on the left used to be in the hubster's nursery. His mom saved it and gave it to us. The little sign has a poem..."Why God made little boys". It's so precious!

Nursery progress!!!

Last week we finished the new closet so I was able to organize a little!. We also hung some of the art and did a trial run with decals. Turns out decals won't work with our textured walls, so we're trying to figure out what to do behind the cribs now. If you have any ideas, leave a comment and let me know!

I know I will eventually be tired of washing, folding and hanging tiny little clothes...but not quite yet! It was so nice to put their little things away...it makes everything so real!.

So without further ado..

Closets before and after (still need a little organizing)

This mobile belonged to the hubster! His mom saved it and gave it to us last night. I love it and plan on hanging it in one corner in the room.

Project Nursery

Project Nursery is well under way!.

We received both cribs last week, but one was slightly damaged so it had to be returned. We were still excited to build the second one and couldn't be happier with the end result! The crib is perfect!.

We also decided on the wall color (the blue on the left in the picture below).

Yesterday we received crib#2, so that's this weekend's project!. I also visited Ikea with my sister to check out the dresser I liked and it's a go. Next up...picking out a glider.

The boys must like all this commotion because they're kicking like crazy! ;)

...and we're officially 21 weeks today! Good times, good times.

Nursery Idea Board! (my first attempt!)

I'm happy to report I'm having another productive week and the babes are kicking up a storm in there!

We picked out and ordered the bedding sets...it was such a great deal that I just couldn't let it pass. We got the Dwellstudio Zoo bedding from Target...I love the modern feel to it and the colors seem to be perfect.

I think it's going to work well with what I had in mind!. If it doesn't, we'll return them and will be back to the drawing board.

• Wall color: Very pale blue (as shown on the background).


• Cribs: Our beautiful Olivia Cribs that arrived this week! (we'll be busy this weekend!). For the wall behind the cribs we were thinking of having a decal with a tree or some birds on branches paired with a couple of modern and simple mobiles (thinking maybe my super artistic dad, aka "erpapin", could help with those!).


• Curtains: Bright Orange to spice things up!


• Dresser/Changing Table: A simple white dresser from Ikea, topped with a changing top (not shown). On top of the dresser I think the Wood "creatures" I found in Etsy would work well.


• Glider: A dark rich brown upholstered rocker. I found this one from JCPenney that looks really nice.


• Art: I also loved the decal in the idea board with the boys in the swings. Not sure where that would go just yet. An lastly, maybe some cute sign about boys or brothers...

So what do you guys think? Got any recommendations?...this is just the first attempt so any suggestions/comments are welcome!

Good bye old condo, I'll miss ya!

This week has been very productive...maybe because it went by sooo sloooowly, but I got a lot done!.

First, I had to say goodbye to "my condo". This is what we I call the room upstairs where the living room set from my single days was set-up. It was my space to go relax or watch TV when the husband wouldn't let go of the remote control downstairs (a girl can only take so much of shows about surviving in the wild or catching deadly crabs).

Thanks to goo' ol' trusty Craigslist, I sold all the furniture. The best part is that I sold it all AT the asking price and in ONE day!. It does make you wonder if we prized it too low and we're just fools. By comparison to similar items I actually thought it was a bit high, so I'll just think we are *that* good at selling used furniture ;)

Now all we have to do is move my office to the old condo room since the boys' nursery will be where my office is now. All 'just in time' because...

I ordered the CRIBS!!

I can't wait to get them...they will be perfect in the room and it just makes it so real!

Once the husband and I can agree on bedding (which is not as easy as it sounds), then everything else will start coming together.

On another very happy note and just in time for Father's Day...Alejandro felt his first kicks last night. I have been feeling Baby A move a lot lately, and the night before I could feel him on the outside. So it was a matter of time...and last night it was perfect timing because he got there in the middle of the kicking action.

I am back from my "Fratella's Palooza" (aka sisters' trip!) we had an awesome time...pictures to come later!

Ever since I found out we're having boys, I've been thinking about what we're going to do for their room!. There are so many beautiful nurseries out there...but for our Twinkies, here is what I'm thinking: Clean, Modern and fun...not too matchy-matchy or theme.

I happen to have a very creative friend that just had twin girls and she just has the best ideas. I told her which colors I was thinking about and she sent me a bunch of great ideas! (below are my favorites)

Cribs will be white and simple, walls with the light blue/teal and accents in bright colors (orange, green, etc)
