My boys, the road trippers

Happy New Year everyone!

A couple of weeks ago, the hubs asked me what I thought about doing a road trip...as in driving 700 miles each way and heading to North Carolina!.

He should have known better...you don't ask a new mom that has been stuck in the house for months if she wants a change of scenery. No matter how crazy the trip sounds, the answer (at least from this momma!) is going to be "LET'S GO!!!"

We woke up one morning, looked at each other and said.."so? are we going?". I got up from the couch and walked away. He asked me where I was going...I said, I'm packing!. A few hours later the car was all packed!. When I say packed I mean you couldn't fit anything else in that car (and it's a big car!). You just have to be ready for everything when traveling with two newborns :)

So off we went!. The boys did great and we loved the area (we visited Asheville and Lake Lure). We spent New Year's there and it was great!. I gave the boys their morning bottles by the fire and they loved to take naps right there too :)

Here are a few pictures...

Lunch on the go (that's right, I travelled with my TWO boppy pillows and wouldn't go anywhere without them!)

Our morning set-up in the cabin @ Lake Lure :)

And this was the scenery...I already miss it!

Small world! I am from the Lake Lure area and my parents still have a house on the lake that they rent out year-round. Let me know if you guys need another vacation- it's an awesome spot!

You are so brave!! I can't even imagine doing that. Sounds like you had a total blast. Good for you!

We actually spent a night in Asheville last week so we could get 8 hours of sleep. The girls, however, stayed with their Farm Nana. I'm not sure they missed us one bit...but the hubby and I missed them most first thing in the morning when we usually get cheery smiles :D

I love it! I'm so jealous of your trip, I was born and raised in that area and I would kill for my husband to say lets hop in the car and go see the mountains. Flat Swampy Florida just doesn't do it for me.

Your boys are gorgeous, you're one lucky mama!
